Welcome! I’m a native upstate New Yorker now living in Poplarville, Mississippi. I’ve freelanced through the years, having been a regular contributor to Mississippi Farm Bureau’s Mississippi Farm Country, Tractor Supply’s Out Here, North Country Living, Southern Senior, Appaloosa Journal, Mane Stream, The Social Silo, Horse Collaborative, the Porsche Club of America’s website, and others, as well as being a regular contributor to The Post-Star newspaper.
My husband, Larry Phillips, and I went from quasi-homesteading in the Adirondacks at our 30 Acre Wood (visit www.weefarmgirl.blogspot.com to see what we were up to there) to life on our blissfully rock-free land in the deep South. The two are about as different as night and day, from composition of land to weather patterns to methodologies, but the love of agriculture and country life is a steady force throughout.
I also went from being a lifelong horse person to discovering the wonderful world of donkeys and mules. A broken leg in 2013 from a riding accident saw me divest of my horses, and upon moving to Mississippi I adopted two elderly donkeys, adding and losing a few along the way. My current herd of four are an absolute joy and fill the hole in my heart left by my horses, without trying so hard to kill me.
Thanks for joining me here!
